How the Recharge Point works

1. Introducing the organization

We match dedicated psychologists to your organization. This way, the staff is paired with familiar faces, and we can keep an ear to the ground for organization-wide trends. Our psychologists schedule an introductory session with the relevant players within your organization. For example, the client, occupational physician, occupational social workers, HR business partners, HR Learning & Development, and absence case managers.

2. Setting up an online workspace

Your organization receives a unique registration link through which employees can book a session without a supervisor’s interposition. This link can be distributed via the intranet and (if applicable) internal newsletters. Moreover, all psychologists are introduced on this online portal, so that employees get an idea of the available psychologists. If desired, we can provide communication materials for promotion.

3. The Recharge Point

Employees book a time slot of 30 minutes. Prior to the appointment, they receive an online questionnaire that will shed some light on the reason for the meeting and what the employee has already undertaken themself. That way, we can make effective and core-focused use of our time.

The sessions may, for example, address stress symptoms, how to manage perfectionism, a conflict with a supervisor and/or colleague, a sense of insecurity about one’s own abilities, or tips on how to cope with certain symptoms.

4. Optional: referral

Sometimes one appointment is enough to get someone back on track. Sometimes we will advise employees to check back in after 3-4 weeks to schedule a follow-up conversation. We may also direct them towards a more intensive program, due to the serious nature of the issue. This could involve psychological counseling but may also consist of the existing health and well-being program, or a consultation with the occupational physician and/or occupational social worker.

Our goal is not to take over any work. We mainly function as the glue that connects the right professional with the right request for support, so we can work together to keep your employees healthy and flexible.

5. Trend reports

Quarterly, we provide an overview of the Recharge Point. You receive high-level insight into the number of conversations that are being held, what recurring themes are, and whether any referrals have been made. We make sure that this information cannot be traced back to individual employees, in order to maintain a safe space. This way, you maintain oversight of what is happening, without having to get involved in the details.

6. Optional: organizational advice

Holding conversations about individual behavior is highly effective in preventing cumulative stress but does not lead to structural reduction when crucial elements within the organization cause stress. That is why, along with trend reports, we offer organizational advice based on the trends we observe and how to address them on an organizational level. This way, we avoid simply applying band-aids to open wounds and things will run much more smoothly within your organization.

Frequently asked questions answered

We give you not just 1, but 4 reasons!

  1. Uit Data from TNO shows that long-term absenteeism per employee costs an average of 91.000. So, the Recharge Point has paid for itself when you prevent the sick leave of one or two employees.
  2. 62,2% of sick notifications to the occupational health physician originate in mental health issues (Source: beroepsziekten.nl). The timely provision of psychological support can thus lead to reduced involvement of the occupational health service.
  3. The manager becomes more productive, because they are less consumed by urgent support requests. More focus leads to more output. The same is true for all employees, who will perform better when their well-being improves.
  4. 4. Furthermore, the Recharge Point provides advice based on input from employees. No more futile investments in training that everybody would rather avoid. Solely invest in that which leads to effective results: Bottom-up.

The occupational health physician often – and wrongfully – only comes into play when an employee has already been reported sick. Their primary focus is on employability and the appropriate path toward it. When psychological questions arise, the occupational health physician refers employees to psychologists. That is: us.

By taking a preventative approach with the Recharge Point, you can deploy the occupational health physician when long-term absence is an issue. With the Recharge Point, the occupational health physician will be relieved of their (often excessive) caseload. Mutual referral is made possible through direct lines of communication, in order to work as efficiently as possible.

No. The confidential advisor plays an important role in cases relating to unwanted attention in the workplace. They guide the employee to establish a safer working environment as quickly as possible. The confidential advisor knows the ways of the company well and advises the employee on which steps can be taken.

The Recharge Point focuses on the mental effects of unwanted behavior. While an employee is being supported by the confidential advisor to find solutions, they can turn to the Recharge Point to discuss the mental impact of the situation they experienced. If necessary, we refer individuals to the confidential advisor for concrete action regarding the undesirable situation.

No. We are not an official referrer, but thanks to our expertise we can provide targeted advice on the right place to find help. If necessary, we also provide people with a detailed letter to the general practitioner, to ensure a smooth referral process.
